US House Ways and Means Committee Touts False Narrative on Benefits of #TrumpTax
Congressman George Holding Supported TrumpTax Benefits for Wealthy at Expense of Working Families
Raleigh, NC — North Carolinians for a Fair Economy (NCFE) calls attention to the political theater in which NC Congressman George Holding has a starring role. The US House Ways and Means Committee met today to promote their fictitious talking point that working families have benefited from the Trump/Holding tax bill.
The richest 5 percent of North Carolina earners will receive 53 percent of the benefits from the tax breaks next year, thanks to Congressman Holding’s support for the TrumpTax.
In fact, a poll by High Point University earlier this year showed only 33% of wage earners in NC report seeing an increase in their paychecks as a result of the TrumpTax. Furthermore, an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll in April showed only 27% support for the tax law.
North Carolinians for a Fair Economy will continue to inform Congressman Holding’s constituents that he has consistently voted in favor of his wealthy donors to the detriment of working families in the 2nd Congressional District.
